Union Station

So here is a report of my day in DC. It was very hot. Very HOT! But it started with a 5am wake up call from my alarm where i proceeded to prepare for the day. Leaving at 6am to get to my train at Absecon Station. Trained to Philadelphia and then from Phili to DC. I arrived at 10.45 as scheduled and i began to walk down the National Mall. Its quite the contrast to NYC very green a lot cleaning and very big white governmental buildings. Even the train station. I went to the the massive Abraham Lincoln memorial a huge statue of him. Massive! Went to the Holocaust museum as i had to get out of the heat before i melted away. You get little cards of a person before you go in and you find out if they lived or not at the end. My little girl lived. Its shocking how one person could of caused so much pain to almost an entire continent. Went to the other war memorials. I found New Zealand represented in the Korean Memorial. YAY! I went and tried to get a closer look at the white house but security dismissed me. lol. I've heard we Kiwis are dangerous. hahaha. na there was just lots of fencing so it wasn't possible. I did a little shopping in DC spent like and hour or so in H&M and ended up having to hike it back to the train station to catch my train. I thought i'd be cutting it short but likely i made it on time and all went well. Got back to New Jersey at midnight and came home and crashed. I'm so tired. I'm heading back to Vermont tomorrow and i shall be doing a lot of resting and sleeping to get ready for my non stop travel out west. Enjoy all it might it all you see for a while. i shall do my best to find interesting things to photograph. But i'm heading Montreal, Maine and maybe a little more so there shall be more at a later date.

  1. Who is the guy with the basketball oggling you in the photo of you standing in front of Ab Lincoln ...
I found the Holocaust museum disturbing as well. I went through with Mike, Mack and lucy and if I remember correctly some of us did not make it. You stayed in the car with Pete ... to young to go to a concentration camp. DC is really nice.
