Earthquakes, Maine and More

The Cutest thing

Cuteness in the sand

Man the last few days have been crazy. My mind has been going non-stop. I'm all the way in the USA and my home city. Christchurch, New Zealand was hit but a 7.1 magnitude earthquake. One of those things where you wish you were there but weren't at the same time. But things seem to be OK. I'm still so far away though and its a little scary, don't really knowing whats going on. My house had no power or water for like 3 days i think and there are still after shocks going on.
But non the less i have done a few things. Yesterday Mike, Chris, Lars and I all went to Maine for the day. Walked around Portland, Maine, very cool happening place. We went up on labour day weekend so it was pretty busy with people. We went to the beach and I saw the Atlantic ocean. It was to cold to swim. But i went into the Atlantic ocean in New Jersey anyway. But my cute little nephew Lars had a ball hanging out in the sand. he got very dirty but loved it. The beach we went to actually kind of reminded me of some of the beaches in Christchurch.
Chris and I went to Keene, New Hampshire a few days ago and on our way back we saw the most amazing skies. Wonderful colours. It was just amazing.
Mike and I went to a high school football game last friday and I experienced enthusiasm that you would only see at big New Zealand rugby game. Funny the cultural differences here in the US from New Zealand even though we speak the same language.
So i'm only here in Vermont for about another 5 days and man how the time has flown by. I'm going to miss my early wake up call from Lars as he is the cutest thing. I wanted to have him saying my name before i leave but i don't think it will happen but i still have 5 days to go so i can work at it. Wish me luck!
